Relatively cheap (GBP 100 per night for a 2 bedroom apartment). Our apartment was functional but in need of a refurb. Horrible old carpets. Dirt marks all over the worn paintwork on the walls. An omnipresent smell of damp. Dirty windows. I found it quite depressing, but acceptable for a couple of nights. I wouldn't want to spend any longer. Location was good- a 15 min walk to Hanoi old town. There is a cafe in the attached shopping mall which does amazing coffee and has lovely staff.

Great apartment in centre of town

Excellent apartment-style hotel in bustling Hanoi. We appreciated being able to spread out in all the space (two bed apartment) and it was great to have access to a kitchen to make the family simple breakfasts. Supermarket is right downstairs and the location is within reach of plenty of sights. We used Grab to order taxis even for sights a km away because they're so cheap and the roads are so hectic we preferred to avoid too many crossings. Downsides: poorly sealed windows so you can feel the heat coming through and plenty of noise from the busy road downstairs. We had 2 rooms because we stayed on 2 separate occasions. The first room was ok but fairly tired, but the second felt a lot fresher. So the room standard possibly varies a bit. Upsides: Restaurant was a pleasant surprise - burger was the best our son had in Vietnam. Standard expensive hotel prices (heaps more than Hanoi cafes outside!) but with very tired kids it was fantastic to have good food in a nice setting right downstairs. Pool was big and a great feature, but it's so noisy with the street outside that it wasn't relaxing to hang around beside it.

The place is perfect if you are staying with family, the room is so comfortable and the staff is so friendly. The kitchen is fully equipped with the utensils and even the detergent is provided. The location is very near to the old quarter area but no worries, because convenient store is just at the 1st floor of the hotel.

Nice set up, and great location. Right next door to the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ museum, and a 15 minute walk to the hectic fun of the old quarter. Staff are very friendly and helpful with any queries or requests. Kids loved the pool facilities. Room was a great size, clean and comfortable.

The room was very well suited for our family, it was very clean and spacious. It was greag to come back after a long day of sightseeing. Not only that, but all of the staff members were very accomodating and polite. The Somerset hotel made our stay in Vietnam even more enjoyable!
